James Ellis of Omaha Receives Millie & Ray Sanders South Shore Foundation Scholarship
Omaha's James Ellis has been awarded the Millie & Ray Sanders South Shore Foundation Scholarship to attend North Arkansas College this fall. The son of Joe & Kitty Ellis, he was a 2009 graduate of Omaha High School. James won 1st place in the Arkansas Stock Market Game, and was awarded the Alyss Paige Slape Memorial Scholarship.
After attending Northark for two years and completing his general education requirements, he will transfer to a university to complete his education. Ellis plans to pursue a career as a math instructor.
“I am greatly honored to be receiving this scholarship. I plan on making the most of it. I just want to thank the Sanders family for this opportunity,” James said.
The scholarship is provided by a gift to the North Arkansas College Foundation in honor of the late Millie & Ray Sanders, North Arkansas Telephone Company founders and is designated for students from Marion and Boone counties who are pursuing studies in math, science or technology or who will teach these subjects.
