Ward Joins NATCO Staff

Flippin – Meghan Ward has joined Northern Arkansas Telephone Company as Marketing Coordinator. Ward is a 1995 graduate of Lake Forest College, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies. She has seven years background in business and marketing, and her experience includes writing, photography, design, and coordinating marketing placement and campaigns.

Ward will be telecommuting from a home office in Utah and making frequent site visits to the Flippin office and NATCO service area. “I feel very fortunate to be able to contribute to the family business and the community where I grew up, even though I am now living out-of-state. I spend a lot of time in the area visiting my family, so this is a great opportunity to combine the many benefits of telecommuting, as well as my love for the Ozarks. I am delighted to be on board.”

The telecommuting arrangement has been successful largely because of technology that NATCO has readily available to customers. Ward uses an IP phone which uses Voice over IP technologies, allowing telephone calls to be made over an IP network such as the Internet instead of the ordinary system. Using this technology, calls can traverse the Internet, or a private IP Network such as that of a company, voice mail and email. As a result, the user can maintain a local number and be connected to the office phone system even though not on the premises. Ward also makes daily use of NATCO’s Webmail and Ultimate Voice Mail services from her home office.
