New Directory Brings Improvements
Opening the new Ozark Regional Directory, customers will find many improvements. NATCO has redesigned all of its preliminary pages (edged in green) resulting in a book that is easier to read with larger and more modern type. A new feature this year in the community
pages is a section at the front of the book with social services in Marion and Boone Counties. This year's book also recognizes the company's 50th year in business.
Phone listing pages are also improved this year.
"We have decided to interfile all of the listings instead of having them in three separate sections," said Steven Sanders, Jr., vice president and plant manager. All the phone numbers from the
|
Harrison area, NATCO and Yelcot
territory inMarion County, and all Baxter County listings are placed together in one section for the customer's convenience and are in larger type.
All the phone numbers are also listed numerically with the name of the subscriber following the number. This numerical listings section is in the back of the book, just prior to the yellow pages.
Of course, the yellow pages contain advertising messages about local and area businesses you will be needing to consult throughout the year. Keep your new Ozark Regional Directory close at hand. As always, its 6 x 9 inch size is convenient for your desk, vehicle, or even your briefcase. For additional copies of the directory, call Customer Service 1-800-775-6682.

South Shore Soccer Association Reaches First Year Milestone

South Shore Strikers Under 8 Traveling Team
Participants in the first traveling team for SSSA are: (back row) Mike
Kerwood - team parent; Wes Due - coach; Williams
Gutierrez - assistant coach; (middle row) Ben Kerwood, Brian Edmondson, Colby Butcher, Dean Herbst - team MVP; (front row) Dustin Duckworth, Jacy Arkless, Carlin Henry, and Calvin
Henry. |
The first year of the South Shore Soccer Association has been a great success for all who participated. It took many volunteers and great sponsors to get the association running.
The U 8 team became the first SSSA traveling team. According to a close observer, the team worked really hard learning the basic mechanics of soccer and the importance of teamwork. Winning first place at the Twin Lakes Spring Invitational tournament showed their lessons were paying off. Dean Herbst was given the team Most Valuable Player trophy for playing outstanding defense, especially against the Harrison Sting.
The South Shore Soccer Association holds its meetings the second Monday of each month at Flippin City Hall, and everyone is invited to participate. For more information call David Duckworth, Shady Oaks Resort in Fairview,

NATCO Relay for Life Team Takes Home Honors
A dozen NATCO employees volunteered as a Relay for Life team for the 2001 American Cancer Society event held in Mountain Home May 18-19 at the high school's Bomber Stadium. The NATCO team brought back the prize for showing the most enthusiasm (tied with the ASUMH team), and was also fourth highest in points gained overall. The team's slogan was
"Calling for a Cure."

For many, the event was the first time to take part in the American Cancer Society's national signature activity to raise funds to fight cancer. For Allison Deady, who lost a relative to cancer, it was the second year to participate.
"It is so heart-filling," she said about the all-night,
non-athletic, team event.
"Once you see it, you can understand the intentions that are behind this event. It is a big undertaking and a good time." The Relay for Life is a family-oriented team event that celebrates cancer survivorship, health, teamwork, and the community.
Allison thanked all of the team members for their hard work and enthusiasm, and thanked the public and area businesses for their generous support in donations, which came to over $1,600. In total, the event raised more than $109,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Calling All Telephone
Customers
Q. Who can make changes to a NATCO
account?
A. Only those persons listed on the NATCO account.
To protect your NATCO account, only those persons listed on your account can make changes or add service to the account. The only person who can add another person's name to an account is the primary account holder (someone who is already listed). If any NATCO customer has a question about who can and cannot make changes to your account, please call NATCO's customer service representatives at
1-800-775-6682.
Q. How can I keep my long distance charges under control?
A. One way would be to subscribe to NATCO's Toll Controller service.
With NATCO's new Toll Controller option, a code is needed to make a long distance call from your home telephone. A NATCO customer service representative can provide additional information, or you may pick up an information card about the service at NATCO. The cost of the service is only $2 per month for a residence or $3 per month for a business.
On the Road Again...
Taking the message of NATCO's company slogan
"Tomorrow's Technology Today" out to the public recently were Steven Sanders Jr., who spoke to an audience at the Arkansas State University Computer Fest in April, and NATCO Customer Service Representative Julie Casey and Brooks-Jeffrey Marketing Web Developer Angela McCune, shown below, talking with a visitor in the NATCO booth at the Twin Lakes Home Builders Annual Home

Spotlight: The Corner Joint Offers Art
Reproductions & Art-Related Services from Web Site
The Corner Joint has added a new twist to its 18-year history in the Twin Lakes area. It is a Web site featuring art reproductions to view and buy plus many opportunities to find answers to your questions about art and framing. NATCO Technologies hosts the Web site, which was built by Brooks-Jeffrey Marketing, Inc. The address is
www.cornerjoint.com.
At the Corner Joint Web site, a visitor may:
- Purchase prints.
- Search for a piece of artwork on the
"Art Find" page. The Corner Joint is able to find nearly any print for customers when they send in an e-mail inquiry. They will quote a price to search for art that is out of
publication.
- On the "Art Care" page, learn about conservation framing to preserve historical documents or family
keepsakes.
- Look over a list of nearly 100 artists and photos of their work that is for sale at or through The Corner
Joint.
- Visit art museums that are linked to the
site.
- Ask any question by e-mail and receive a response from The Corner Joint owner, Jean Falk, or former co-owner, Margaret C. Hall.
Entering The Corner Joint's online virtual store, a customer will learn that The Corner Joint is a service-oriented art gallery, providing the highest quality framing for any art, whether a poster print or oil painting. Although the framing part of the business takes place only in the work room of the business at 205 N. College in Mountain Home, customers may e-mail or call toll free for information about framing. Jean is a member of a national organization she helped to organize in California, the Professional Picture Framers Association.

The Corner Joint has framed many a family keepsake, such as needlework, or placed medals, coins, or letters in uniquely designed shadow boxes for families to preserve intact. They also sell ready-made photo and art frames and accept
"rush" orders.
Restoring artwork and cleaning oil paintings are services offered by the professional artists at The Corner Joint. A recent restoration project was the repair of a huge map of Baxter County. The map now hangs at the Baxter County Historical Society building in Gassville.
As president of Friends of the Cultural Arts Center, Jean Falk, who lives in Bull Shoals, is a leader in the arts community. The group is working to establish an arts center on the campus of Arkansas State University Mountain Home with a convention/ community center and senior activities center. A longtime volunteer in set designing for school groups, Mrs. Falk was once named California PTA Woman of the Year.
A practical artist, Jean Falk uses her training in architectural design in a related business, JF Design. She works with local contractors to design kitchens and baths for homes.
Whether you visit The Corner Joint in person or on the Web you will be glad you did. The Corner Joint is at your service when the subject is art. Business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The telephone number is 870-425-8187. The Web site is

NATCO Modifies E-mail Service
- Only $3
If a NATCO customer wishes to have e-mail only service rather than full Internet service, it is available for $3 per month. (This service replaces the Bulletin Board System e-mail for all customers except those in the Mountain Home area.) Larry May, Internet Services supervisor, said the new e-mail only service is more reliable than the BBS e-mail. In addition, customers may use any of the over 20 NATCO e-mail domains (i.e.,
yourname@marioncounty.com) and any of the standard e-mail programs. For more information, call NATCO Customer Service at
