INSTALLATION AND REPAIR TECHNICIAN

The Installation and Repair Technician ensures NATCO's broadband network is seamlessly deployed and maintained inside our customers' homes and businesses. We seek someone who is detail-oriented and professional. Our ideal candidate has experience in utility services and/or telecommunications technology, and they possess strong computer skills. You will optimize NATCO's network infrastructure and deliver reliable service in the ever-evolving broadband landscape.

Some of the regular and reoccurring responsibilities and expectations of the Install and Repair Technician at NATCO may include, but not be limited to:
- Installing aerial boots;
- Splicing new cable (copper or fiber);
- Installing and repairing digital carrier systems;
- Thorough knowledge of electronics;
- Understanding digital and analog telecommunications technology;
- Knowledge of color codes of pairs and fiber cable;
- Experience with ADSL and Ethernet services;
- Strong computer skills;
- Ability to read cross connect/control point layout to run jumpers;
- Basic electrical knowledge.
Qualifications and desired skills or experiences include:
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test;
- A valid driver's license with no major violations;
- Understanding of OSHA required safety practices, including ladder safety and pole climbing;
- Utilizing crawl spaces in attics and under homes;
- Working outside in all types of weather;
- Ability to communicate with customers effectively and professionally;
- High school diploma or GED.

CONSTRUCTION LINEMAN
Northern Arkansas Telephone Company (NATCO) is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Construction Lineman to join our team. This role involves the construction, maintenance, and repair of aerial and buried cable systems. The ideal candidate will be dependable, capable of working independently, and committed to upholding the highest safety and service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and execute routine orders and engineering blueprints for cable layout or stringing; take initiative to clarify unclear instructions.
- Construct and maintain aerial and underground cable plant systems with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
- Perform aerial work including climbing poles, placing/removing cable, installing messenger strands, and transferring equipment.
- Install cable in underground conduits and place load coils in manholes.
- Operate digging and trenching equipment to install direct-buried cable and restore disturbed surfaces (concrete, pavement, etc.).
- Set telephone poles using appropriate machinery and equipment.
- Install central office feeder cable and house cable throughout customer buildings.
- Properly use and maintain tools and equipment; report defective tools to supervisor.
- Follow all safety practices, including the use of protective equipment and the ability to provide first aid or pole-top rescue if needed.
- Submit necessary administrative forms (e.g., mileage, time, materials).
- Operate vehicles responsibly and comply with all traffic and safety regulations.
- Represent the company professionally at all times while interacting with customers.
- Stay informed of company policies, procedures, and participate in all required safety and training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CDL required
- Prior experience in telecommunications or utility line work preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

The Telecom Plant Manager will be at the forefront of supervising, planning, and coordinating all outside plant construction, installation, and repair activities for both residential and business customers. The ideal candidate is a natural-born leader, equipped with a proven track record in organizing and navigating the ever-evolving landscape of the fiber broadband industry.

Some of the regular and reoccurring responsibilities and expectations of a Telecom Plant Manager at NATCO may include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure work complete for all outside plant activities to include quality standard adherence and reporting;
- Perform quality control visits for construction, install and repair activities;
- Cross-coordinate with outside departments to ensure customer satisfaction;
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely and budget conscious completion;
- Maintain accurate records of budgets, schedules, equipment and materials used;
- Draw, read, and understand staking sheets, map, geographical survey map and circuit designs;
- Ensure compliance with Federal RUS specifications for work performed by outside plant employees and contractors;
- Understand material and equipment involved in telephone operations to include copper, fiber and coaxial cable and their distribution design;
- Display telecom/broadband technical expertise, project management skills, and a client-focused approach while staying updated with industry trends;
- Provide detailed reviews of service disruptions to include trending and root cause analysis.
